Divina Iesu Caritas

This hymn is used for Lauds on the Feast of St. Frances Xavier Cabrini (December 22) in the Extraordinary Form.

Divina Iesu caritas,
Tu magna sola perficis,
Quæ, vertis ipsas virgines
In fervidos apostolos.

Per te refulsit inclita
Francisca, spreto sæculo,
Sexuque maior gloriam
Dei per orbem protulit.

Beata Mater, respice
Cælo benigna filias,
Tuumque fac virtutibus
Opus virescat, floreat:

Cor perge Iesu flectere,
Stirpes ut omnes congreget
Et prona nobis impetra
Flammas amoris æmulas.

Virtus, honor, laus, gloria,
Deo Patri cum Filio,
Sancto simul Paraclito
In sæculorum sæcula. Amen.

Words: Fr. Vittorio Genovesi, 1948.
Tune: Unknown
Meter: 88.88
