O Sator Rerum Reparator Ævi

This hymn is used for Matins on the Feast of the Transfiguration of the Lord in the Sarum Breviary.

O Sator rerum, Reparator ævi,
Christe Rex regum, metuende censor,
Ad preces nostras pariterque laudes
Aspice gratis.

Noctis incursu Tibi vota laudum
Pangimus, præsta Tibi sint ut apta,
Nosque concentu refove perennis
Luminis Auctor.

Inter Eliam(1) Moysenque vates,
Ut iubar solis faciem refulgens,
Candida veste nivis instar albæ
Tu micuisti(2).

Tu Dei Patris, Patre teste, Proles,
Cum sis sanctorum decus angelorum,
Tu Salus mundi, Via, Vita, Virtus
Crederis esse.

Gloria, virtus sit tibi(3), Creator,
Cuncta qui solus retinens gubernas,
In throno regni sine fine regnans
Trinus et Unus. Amen.

Words: Sarum Breviary, 10th C.
Tune: “Melody 44” Sarum chant melody, Mode IV.

The text varies in the following ways in the Hymnale Secundum Usum Insignis Ac Praeclarae Ecclesiae Sarisburiensis:
(3)Tibi sit
