Tua Beandos Gloria

This is the original text of this hymn as it appears in Hymni Sacri et Novi (1689 ed.). It is a hymn for the Common of Confessors:

Tua beandos gloria,
Miris, Deus, probas modis ,
Qui, dum lates, præsentior,
Votis amantum pasceris.

Procul remoti, supplices
Tendunt manus, et patrium
Per vota, per suspiria,
Cælum salutant exules.

Te sola mors cum det frui,
Se se necant laboribus,
Se se necant ieiuniis,
Et, qua, licet, vellent mori.

Quam, morte prompta, fervidi
Emere palmam Martyres;
Hic doctus in dies mori,
Longo reportat funere,

Words: Fr. Jean-Baptiste de Santeul, 17th C.
