The Roman Breviary – (Extraordinary Form) According To The Reforms Of H.H. Pope Urban VIII

This table of Contents has been compiled from a combination of templates found in the 1922 book The Hymns of the Breviary and Missal by Fr. Matthew Britt, O.S.B, a 1629 edition of the texts to be promulgated for the hymns by H.H. Pope Urban VIII, the 1849 edition of the Lyra Catholica by Fr. Edward Caswall, C.O., and the 1960 edition of the Roman Breviary.

* I largely used Fr. Britt’s 1922 book to set up the order for the Proper of Saints to provide the hymn texts that are unique to given feast days. Some slight discrepancies exist between the hymns assigned to the given days at this period and the 1960 edition of the Breviary. These shall be noted at a late date
**Fr. Caswall gives a different set of hymns. See the Appendix below.

***Fr. Caswall for some reason lists a different feast day by one day for St. Raphael and somewhat different hymn texts.
