O Dearest Lord, By All Adored

This is the original text of this hymn as it appears in The English Hymnal (1906) where it is listed under hymns at catechism (for close of festival):

O dearest Lord, by all adored,
Our trespasses confessing,
To thee this day thy children pray,
The holy Faith professing!
Accept, O King, the gifts we bring,
Our songs of praise, the prayers we raise;
And grant us, Lord, thy blessing.

Words: Maurice F. Bell, 1906.
Tune (The English Hymnal):Mit Freuden Zart” Bohemian Brethren’s Kirchengesänge, 1556.
Meter: 8.7.8.7.8.8.7
